OUR QUALITY CERTIFICATS

Quality is not a coincidence. Adopting production and sales policies in which continuous improvement ensures sustainable quality, and where reliability, aesthetics, service, durability, and performance are indispensable elements of quality—while making quality economically accessible to all consumers—has been the core philosophy of Starwood, which has been manufacturing for over 35 years.

With the understanding of always doing better and offering innovations and services in a world where even the impossible is made possible, Starwood continues to move forward with stronger steps every day, bringing pioneering and innovative perspectives to the forest products and panel industry.

In the production of particleboard, MDF, melamine-faced panels, painted panels, and impregnated decorative papers, quality controls are ensured at every stage of production through laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Starwood systematically achieves its goals and produces modern, high-quality, and economical products by prioritizing customer satisfaction. In this context, product quality certificates and the Quality Management System operate in full compliance with ISO 9001 principles. Without ever compromising on quality, Starwood embraces continuous improvement at every point and adopts producing excellence through unlimited training opportunities as its fundamental philosophy.

By taking occupational health and safety measures in compliance with national and international standards and regulations applicable to our industry, Starwood fully implements the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ensuring safer and healthier working conditions for employees entrusted to us by their families and facilitating the achievement of targeted product quality.

With the slogan of infinite respect for the environment, in line with the principles of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Starwood has installed one wet electrostatic filter and four electrostatic filters at its facilities, considering not only its operations but also its surrounding environment. By utilizing the latest technological advancements worldwide, Starwood adopts production methods that are healthy and do not harm the environment. In addition, significant investments have been made in online emission monitoring systems installed in chimneys, enabling real-time tracking via the internet and mathematically proving the achievement of environmental targets.

In our country, where the disposal of waste boards and similar materials—one of the main problems of board-consuming industries—is mandatory, Starwood provides a special service to the furniture industry by collecting waste materials free of charge at the source, recycling them at its facilities, and offering major convenience to furniture manufacturers while protecting them from high disposal costs.

By carrying out similar initiatives for wooden packaging waste and non-hazardous wood waste, the company stands as a sector pioneer that emphasizes the importance of recycling.

In today’s world where energy is one of the most critical factors, Starwood has been conducting extensive efforts for years to ensure efficient energy use, minimize fossil fuel consumption, and optimize the use of electrical energy, continuously achieving better results every day.

At facilities where the use of coal and similar fuels has been completely eliminated since 1997, natural gas consumption has also been minimized. By shifting primarily to biofuels, environmental pollution has been reduced while contributing economically to the country’s independence from foreign energy sources, with all investments completed under Starwood’s sector-leading approach. By debarking all wood used in production, Starwood has both improved product quality and obtained a significant source of biofuel, further minimizing external dependency.

In certain production systems, hot gases generated are reused as combustion air instead of being released into the atmosphere, thereby eliminating harmful components and recovering energy.

Energy audits have been conducted by world-renowned organizations to optimize the efficient use of electrical energy, yielding successful results worthy of Starwood.

All these efforts have been consolidated and certified under the ISO 50001 Energy Management System.

In an era where electronic operations have become indispensable, Starwood has completed the necessary training, investments, and certification processes and has certified its comprehensive information protection system by fulfilling the requirements of the ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System. This provides significant convenience, particularly in foreign trade and customs operations.

Recognizing that efficient operations cannot be sustained without customer satisfaction, Starwood has always aimed to maximize customer satisfaction. As a result of these efforts, the principles of the ISO 10002 Customer Satisfaction Management System have been embraced by all employees. Starwood is the only company in the sector to have certified these practices.

Believing that success depends not only on teamwork among employees but also on integration with the spirit of the district, region, and country, Starwood provides significant support across various platforms and takes pride in signing numerous social responsibility projects. All these activities are certified and carried out in accordance with the requirements of the SA 8000 Social Responsibility Standard.

Since its establishment, Starwood has been aware that sustainable forestry is a cornerstone of the industry and has made great efforts in this direction. By certifying these efforts, Starwood has become one of the first companies in the sector to obtain the FSC® certification. It delivers products that satisfy customers using raw materials sourced from sustainably managed, well-operated, and undamaged forests.

As a result of initiatives based on the principle of minimizing free formaldehyde—originating in North America and rapidly spreading worldwide—ultra-thin MDF panels have been produced at E-0 values, well below the existing E-1 standard limits, and these values have been certified with the CARB/EPA certification.
